Code Golf

Wow this is such a cool an interesting concept i cant believe i haven’t come across it before.

The basic concept is just like in golf you need to get to the destination in the minimum number of steps. In golf this would involve hitting a ball , in code golf this involves write as little code as possible.

Well one question quite a few people ask is how do you know you code has reached its destination. Well this is done by providing you with a set of input data , you must then write the code required to make your output match the output provided to you (this is only only one example).

If you think you would like a challenge like this (As i did) have a look at http://codegolf.com/, keep in mind they only use scripting languages.

About Time

So android market for the SA has finally been released , i am not sure when they meant to tell us but anyway when i checked yesterday the update was available.

And all i can say is YAY , i cant believe that i managed to survive up till now with out the market. The ease of use is just outstanding and there is just sooooooo many applications. Which brings me to my next problem , with all the apps out there its hard to find the best of the best , while the apps do have comments on each of them its just not the same as someone recommending a app to you.

So now begins the experimental phase in which i hope to find the best apps for android. I know @Rathlan said that he will try and do a monthly or weekly post with best apps for android which  i cant wait for now :) .

So if you have any suggestions please let me know.

Thanks Microsoft

Thanks again for confusing the hell out of me. So I am not sure if this is a bug or something that was designed this way.

So this weekend I finally sucked up and bought the Fable 2 Expansion. Now when I decide to start playing the expansion I could not find my save games, now this is pretty annoying for one because I had put quite a bit of time into the game. After a bit of pondering I realized that the save must be on my brothers 360 since mine had red ringed when the game came out.

So after checking the memory on his 360 I was right, my save was indeed there but it was listed as an unknown users save. Now to explain how the confusion came about I need to show you how the Saves were listed on the hardrive.

Save1 –> Unknown User

Save1 –> Hasan (Brothers Name)

Save2 –> Hasan (Brothers Name)

So I popped my brothers saves first onto my memcard and let him play as normal on my 360 (Since I have a bigger LCD than his, he enjoys using my 360). Later that night I decide what the hell let me play the new expansion as well and copy my save from his 360 onto the memcard , but when doing this it asks me if I want to overwrite my brothers existing Save1 .So after a quick check it seemed fine to overwrite the save since he wasn’t using the save. After plugging the memcard back into my 360 and launching the game I found that I couldn’t find my save game. After checking the system it seemed that the save had copied over onto the memcard. I then logged into my brothers profile and lo and behold my save was there but it was only valid in his 360 profile.

So basically what I figured was that during the overwrite the save is overwritten but it keeps the profile under the user that it was created as. So to fix this I simply created a save using my profile and then overwrote it again with my brothers save. This sorted out the problem but it still begs the question why did the overwrite not overwrite everything (in the save file). I guess the alternative would have been for me to delete the save and then move my save but it’s not the easiest way to get a simple task done.

O well that’s that let me know if you had anything similar.
